Though many magical schools throughout Tempestas have developed magical artifacts and implements, those that have come to be known as relics are the cornerstone of Saoirsian magic. Saoirsian relics are usually designed to shape magic towards a specific purpose-- for example, a mirror that channels augury magic to scry into the past, or a spear that channels destruction magic to pierce even the thickest armor. Though the workings of relics was long lost to history, even to the Saoirsians themselves, modern analysis has determined that relics are in fact similar to modern magical technology, using ygripetra as a conduit to channel magic. One of the most infamous relics is Daur da Blao, known in legend as the Annihilating Harp. Its usage by Chainbreaker Sorcha Dioltas suggested a capacity for destruction magic beyond any other known relic. This devastating potential is why the Tempestian Union seeks Daur da Blao, in hopes of containing its power before it can be used again.
