A veteran of the War of Fire, Alexei Volkov (unofficially the Loosetrigger) was demoted from Military-class to Labor-class after a dishonorable discharge, due to an incident in which he shot his entire squad during Engel patrol. Though most of the victims died to their injuries, the courts only found him guilty of manslaughter, unable to find evidence of motive or intent in his actions.[2] Now, his former title stripped in favor of a derisive publicly-assigned moniker, the Loosetrigger is forced to take up scavenging with Amalia’s crew in order to survive at the fringes of the Empire.
